The Carlyle Club is now accepting applications for employment for the Positions listed below. The Carlyle Club is an upscale fine dining restaurant and nightclub featuring live Big Band entertainment, located in the Carlyle district of Old Town Alexandria at 411 John Carlyle Street. We are convenient to the King Street Metro Station. The Carlyle Club is scheduled to open in October of 2007. The Carlyle Club will provide upscale fine dining and will offer a VIP room, private parties, and an elegant atmosphere.
All the positions we are looking to fill at The Carlyle Club require individuals who possess certain qualities. We will strive to employ only the best individuals at each position. We are seeking individuals who are professional, friendly, courteous, respectful, and hardworking. Experience in the hospitality and service industry and an understanding of what is required in an upscale atmosphere is also important. The Carlyle Club will provide white tablecloth dining for lunch and dinner and will have the best after work Happy Hour in the area. SERVERS
The Carlyle Club is looking for Servers who have experience in fine dining as well as a desire to be successful. Servers will be responsible for taking care of our guests with the highest level of service. Servers will be required to have a thorough knowledge of our wine selection, full service menu, mixed beverages and specials. Servers at The Carlyle Club will be required to attend to each and every need of our guests to ensure their comfort, enjoyment, and repeat business. BARTENDERS
At The Carlyle Club, we are looking for nothing but the best when it comes to our Bartenders. Here, at The Carlyle Club, we are seeking knowledgeable Bartenders who have experience in fine dining as well as high volume bartending. Each Bartender will be required to have knowledge about our wine selection, menu, and mixed beverages, both classic and contemporary. Bartenders will be responsible for serving bar patrons at a level above all other restaurants in the Washington metropolitan area. Bartenders will be required to wear a uniform picked out by our Management as well as comfortable black shoes. The Bartenders at The Carlyle Club are expected to treat our first-timers equally as well as our repeat customers to ensure their experience at The Carlyle Club is one to be repeated. BAR BACK
A Bar Back at The Carlyle Club will be required to keep our Bar stocked and ready to go for business throughout the day and night. Since Bar Backs will be in view of the customer, our Bar Backs will be required to have knowledge about our wine selection, full menu, and mixed beverages as most guests won’t recognize the difference between the Bar Back and the Bartender. Bar Backs will be required to lift heavy loads of 40-50 lbs. Bar Backs will assist on weekly liquor orders and inventory cycle counts. Bar Backs will be required to wear a uniform picked out by our Management Team, as well as comfortable black shoes. Bar Backs must want to eventually become a bartender and learn from those bartenders already in place on what it takes to become a knowledgeable and effective bartender. DOORMEN
The Carlyle Club will be an upscale fine dining restaurant with live Big Band entertainment that has dress requirements for our guests. Doormen at The Carlyle Club will be required to work the door and invite those guests coming to our establishment with a friendly smile that will make our guests feel welcome. Doormen will be required and trained on how to handle a situation should one arise at The Carlyle Club. Doormen will communicate with our Manager on duty and other staff to answer questions for our guests throughout the night, so clear communication skills is a must. Doormen will be required to wear a uniform picked out by our Management Team, as well as nice dress shoes. LINE COOKS
Line Cooks, under the direction of the Executive Chef, will be responsible for creating each order with consistency. HOSTESS/COAT CHECK
At The Carlyle Club we need staff that can work several areas of the restaurant effectively. From greeting our guests to taking guests’ coats, to escorting guests to their reserved area, our welcoming staff will work together to achieve a first class experience for our guests. Since our welcoming staff will be interacting with the guests, knowledge of our menu, mixed beverages, wine list, restaurant layout and services offered by our Club are required. The welcoming staff will be responsible for communicating any issues with the Manager on duty as well as other staff. The welcoming staff will not have a small range of duties but will be required to adjust to the needs of the guests and requests from the Manager on duty. The welcoming staff will be required to wear a uniform picked out by our Management team as well as nice dress shoes. Good communication skills are required to converse with our guests.
