Join the Virginia Music Adventures Summer Institute “Little Big Band” as they perform selections from the Gordon Goodwin collection as well as others, spanning styles from swing, to funk, latin, & bop. Welcome their special guests the Jacob Garbus Quartet as these Jazz Studies majors and VMA grads wow you with their virtuosity.
Swing Machine is an all-star big band comprised of former members of the Airmen of Note, Army Blues, Navy Commodores, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and other seasoned musicians in the Washington D.C. area. This phenomenal group of 18 musicians perform the hottest arrangements of swing, jazz, and well known standards.
